Lavender survives pretty well in some cooler climates but in the end you need to make sure it's soil drains well since it doesn't like to get it's roots wet.
If it all turns silver and dry then it's dead. Since there is a little new growth however it might survive. I would trim back the dead limbs and let it breathe. All the dead stuff can end up falling to the ground and retain water around the roots which will finish it off.Jacob Royerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14103073402661183447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3805718450165728591.post-6740326068875488932011-03-20T14:26:45.613-04:002011-03-20T14:26:45.613-04:00Oh and by the way your blog gave me the idea of bl...Oh and by the way your blog gave me the idea of blogging my own community garden adventure at http://y9fvg.blogspot.com/

Thanks for the inspiration.Ericahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10111301078363204416noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3805718450165728591.post-71798404908195673412011-03-20T14:24:44.322-04:002011-03-20T14:24:44.322-04:00Liz: Did you move all your boxes from the FVG? I think it is due to the fact that the top, white fabric is too light (in color) which allows light to penetrate into the bag. I hung them at the top of my basement stairs, which in theory would be pretty dark. I would still love to keep using them, but may modify the top with cardboard/dark fabric to see if that helps. I did not seem to have as many issues with onions/garlic.alizardinthegardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17667898926523249543noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3805718450165728591.post-55411550005991835292011-01-17T09:41:42.154-05:002011-01-17T09:41:42.154-05:00Look forward to your postings in the spring, LizLook forward to your postings in the spring, LizLesliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08535826398347449121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3805718450165728591.post-2339630436358304662011-01-08T22:23:56.140-05:002011-01-08T22:23:56.140-05:00The corn variety was a Brocade sweet corn variety ...The corn variety was a Brocade sweet corn variety that I ordered from Seeds of Change.alizardinthegardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17667898926523249543noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3805718450165728591.post-23664911551262463222011-01-08T21:15:04.603-05:002011-01-08T21:15:04.603-05:00Wild sunflowers generally have 20-30 small (very s...Wild sunflowers generally have 20-30 small (very small) heads on each plant.
