Harvest Monday: Color Diversity

The beautiful summer weather has been keeping away from blogging, but the veggies continue to come in! I had a great harvest yesterday with lots of tomatoes, green beans and carrots!

What a colorful harvest. Your carrots look great! We had a hard time growing our carrots. http://nycgardening.blogspot.com/2010/06/starting-to-feel-like-bunny-rabbit.html

What a fantastic harvest!!! Those carrots looks so yummy! What variety are they?

Toni, most of them are "Short 'n Sweet," but there are a few "Danvers" and "baby" carrots mixed in as well! The "Short 'n Sweet" variety have worked well in my 6" SFG boxes!

Ahhh, no fair that your Short 'n Sweet variety is growing so well for you and mine (the exact same variety) are more like "Microcarrots"! If you break out a magnifying glass, you might be able to see the teeeeny carrots in the picture of my harvest this week. :-( When did you sow your carrot seeds? I'm wondering if mine could still grow larger if I just leave them longer in my SFG boxes. You're definitely giving me hope!

All you need is blue and you would have the whole rainbow. I don't know of any really blue foods though. Blueberries look purple to me.
